Nexxus Care are looking for a Learning Disability Team Leader


Team Leader Support Worker - Woodland View, Cannock - Full time
 
Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and leading a team of support workers is essential.

Some duties may include:
  • To shift lead a team of support workers within a respite and day centre environment
  • Create and update care plans, risk assessments and audits as required
  • Carry out spot checks, supervisions and guidance for key workers
  • Audit and administer medication
  • Support with referrals and emergency packages
  • Liaise with management and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective care is being provided
  • Providing assistance during mealtimes, ensuring any dietary needs are met and recorded if needed. 

  • Giving support to the residents when activities are being held in the home and support with escorting of residents when on outings

About You

What we need from you:

  • Can you work shifts between the hours of 7am and 10pm? 
  • Support with adhoc night shifts to support the team 
  • Do you have the right to work in the UK with proofs? (i.e. passport, Visa)
  • We'll need to complete a DBS check if you're successful, we will cover the initial cost of this – T&C's apply
  • Provide professional references – We'll need at least 2 reference from your previous employers
  • Complete mandatory e-learning and attend a classroom based induction held locally – You'll be paid to attend your training, and our training and recruitment team are always available to help

Our centre is proud to offer 10 spacious rooms that are equipped with wet rooms, assistive technology call systems, door sensors for privacy and security, sensory projectors, televisions as well as ceiling track hoist systems and adaptable communal areas for wheel chair users i.e adaptive surfaces within the kitchen area to enable access to the hob and sink.
