Financial Controller
Salary: c. £65k
Location - Fully remote
Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will own the integrity, accuracy, and control of iplicit's financial reporting, while taking a hands-on role in the month-end close, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and overall control environment.
You'll combine strong accounting and control expertise with an understanding of how Finance interacts with our wider systems landscape — including CRM, billing, ERP, and BI tools. Working closely with RevOps, Engineering, and Technical Services, you'll drive automation, streamline workflows, and ensure data consistency across the business.
You will also act as the key link between transactional finance, revenue accounting, and FP&A, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and actionable insights across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Lead all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting policies.
- Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate the year-end audit process.
- Oversee VAT, payroll processing, P11D compliance, payroll journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure robust financial controls, segregation of duties, and audit readiness as we scale.
- Support the VP Finance with consolidated reporting, forecasting, and board pack preparation.
Systems & Process Optimisation
- Act as the Finance systems lead — ensuring our ERP, CRM, billing, and BI tools connect cleanly and operate as a single source of truth.
- Oversee Vertice internally, ensuring all teams follow approved procurement workflows and policies, monitoring purchase requests, approvals, and spend to maintain compliance and accuracy.
- Liaise with RevOps, Engineering, and Technical Services to scope and manage automation projects that reduce manual effort (e.g. AP scanning, bank rec, billing workflows).
- Define finance data requirements for new integrations and ensure APIs are configured correctly with appropriate data controls.
- Support the rollout of BI dashboards and other analytics tools, ensuring Finance owns the right datasets and governance.
- Evaluate and recommend system enhancements, workflow improvements, and automation opportunities.
- Maintain documentation of all key financial processes, integrations, and controls.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and support the Finance team, ensuring alignment between transactional, reporting, and systems processes.
- Partner cross-functionally with RevOps, Commercial Operations, and Product teams to ensure consistent data definitions and reporting logic.
- Support change management during finance transformation or system upgrades.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and accountability.
