Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries or vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Deliver goods to customers' premises promptly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of customer service
  • Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
  • Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and minimise delays
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times or any unforeseen issues
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly

Skills

  • Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • Organised with good time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
  • Experience working in warehouse environments is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unforeseen challenges during deliveries
