Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials to construct or repair walls, facades, and other structures as well as patio and landscaping work. We want someone who is from a bricklying background who can also put their hands to other work This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of masonry techniques. The Brick Mason will work on various projects, ensuring that all work meets safety standards and quality expectations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality building projects with a reputable organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and mark out the layout of structures using specialised tools and techniques
  • Mix mortar and prepare bricks or blocks for laying
  • Lay bricks, blocks, or stones in accordance with design specifications and safety standards
  • Ensure the correct alignment, levelness, and stability of structures during construction
  • Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels efficiently
  • Operate power tools including drills and saws safely and effectively
  • Repair or restore existing masonry structures as required
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, welders, and masons to complete projects efficiently
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials appropriately

Experience

  • Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialised masonry equipment
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices
  • Experience with carpentry, roofing, or welding is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and quality standards
