Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Chemistry Technician to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will assist the senior chemistry technician in ensuring that all analysis and quality control are undertaken in accordance with laboratory policy, within the confines of UKAS and in a timely manner. This individual will also assist in method development as and when required.

Responsibilities

  • To assist in ensuring that all first stage sample preparation is undertaken within appropriate time scales.
  • Ensure that standard methods are undertaken in accordance with UKAS.
  • Ensure that the laboratory has sufficient stocks of consumables & equipment to undertake analysis.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the sample track are completed according to laboratory and customer requirements, from reception to results entry.
  • To assist in ensuring the laboratory is clean and meets the required hygiene standards.
  • Ensure that all work is undertaken in a manner that complies with Company and Health & Safety Executive requirements.

Experience

  • An honours degree or higher in related discipline from a recognised university and/or previous laboratory experience in a scientific or industrial setting
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is advantageous
  • Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
