Overview

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and observe patients for changes in condition, reporting any concerns promptly
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
  • Support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia through memory care techniques
  • Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and monitor vital signs as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of client living spaces through cleaning and sanitation tasks
  • Follow individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers
  • Document care activities accurately while respecting patient privacy and confidentiality standards
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or nursing home environments preferred
  • Group home experience or working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement is desirable
  • Training or certification in first aid, CPR, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus
  • Experience with long-term care planning and social work principles is beneficial
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards required
  • Prior caregiving experience involving assisting with ADLs and providing direct support to individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions

This Support Worker role is essential in delivering compassionate care tailored to each individual's needs. Candidates should demonstrate patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the dignity and independence of those they serve.

Pay: £24,420.00-£29,432.56 per year
