The Opportunity
The Works Coordinator has overall responsibility for the management of all works on the site and ensures compliance with BS5975. The WC reports directly to the Designated Individual for the implementation of the company temporary works procedure, as well as the appointment of TWSs.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that all works are adequately controlled and implemented on the site.
- Responsible for any works matters relating to the designer and site team.
- Have a duty to plan, manage and monitor their design through to implementation.
- The WC should ensure that all works designs are constructed following relevant drawings and specifications which are set out by the TW designer.
- WC is responsible for the permit to load ensuring that all appropriate steps have been taken to ensure the stability of the temporary structure.
- Periodic checks confirming that the works have not been altered since being constructed on site and then before loading.
- Be responsible for creating a works register and regular updating of register.
- Ensure relevant preconstruction information is obtained to allow a first-time right approach to Scaffold design.
- Ensure that every scaffold structure has a robust client brief with adequate preconstruction information to allow the design team to commence activities.
- Be the conduit of information between the works design teams.
- It is their duty to ensure that various works responsibilities have been allocated and accepted by other members of the team if this is how the project which to manage works.
- Ensuring that all KAEFER works procedures are adhered too during each step of the works process.
- Build and maintain close relationships between the various works Supervisors to track modification of workplace clashes during the erection process.
- A clear understanding of the principles of BS5975.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate for the role will have experience of access solutions, work at height practices and scaffolding procedures. They will have a pro-active approach with the ability to identify areas of improvement, as well as having the ability to organise their own work effectively and efficiently.

- Ability to chair design review meetings
- Ability to accurately capture design requirements from client, to tracking documentation, clear understanding of preconstruction information
- IOSH Managing Safety/ SMSTS
- CITB Temporary Works accredited
- Relevant CISRS qualification
Desirable
- Experience of Temporary Works Management of mobile elevated platforms
