The Role

The Senior Product Manager will lead the development and growth of our new, flagship AI-powered product designed for teachers and school leaders. This product is a key part of The National College's mission to empower educators through innovative digital solutions.

Working closely with the other product leaders and the development team, you'll take full ownership of the Teacher and Leader AI product – leading the roadmap and ensuring every feature delivers meaningful value to our users.

Job Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Define and own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for the Teacher and Leader AI product
  • Translate vision and goals into clear, deliverable product initiatives
  • Prioritise features and improvements based on user value, data, and strategic impact

Agile Product Delivery

  • Ensure agile best practices are followed, with clear sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery tracking
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, and design to ensure high-quality, timely product releases
  • Support detailed ticket definition, acceptance criteria, and ongoing refinement for development teams

User-Centric Development

  • Champion the needs of educators and school leaders by embedding user feedback and research into product planning
  • Ensure features are intuitive, practical, and aligned with the day-to-day challenges faced by our users

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align product development with commercial and operational goals across the business
  • Communicate product progress and priorities clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to support product positioning, onboarding, and adoption

Measurement & Improvement

  • Define product KPIs and regularly report on performance, usage, and outcomes
  • Use data to inform decisions and drive continuous iteration
  • Stay informed on developments in AI, education technology, and SaaS best practices to guide future innovation

Job Requirements

Required

  • 7+ years in product management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proven success in owning and scaling SaaS or AI-powered products
  • Experience working within agile, cross-functional teams and leading structured product delivery
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Confident in backlog prioritisation, roadmap planning, and feature trade-off decisions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment

Preferred

  • Experience working in the edtech, education, or e-learning sectors
  • Understanding of school leadership, teaching workflows, or professional development in education
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), subscription products, or B2B SaaS models
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies and how they can enhance user-facing products

  • Skilled at leading teams, developing talent, and aligning multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leaders and representing the product at all levels of the organisation

Technical Fluency

  • Capable of working closely with developers, understanding technical dependencies, and guiding scoping conversations
  • Familiar with tools like Jira, and modern product development toolkits
