The Associate Platform Owner will support the holistic management of a platform ensuring its stability, scalability and alignment with organisational goals. This role leads and balances the need for feature development with addressing risks, managing technical debt, and resolving defects to maintain long-term platform health. The Associate Platform Owner helps ensure that the platform delivers consistent value to the business while maintaining high operational standards. Their responsibilities include implementing continuous improvements and ensuring that risks and defects are addressed in a timely manner.

Main Duties
- Assist in managing a platform or its features by helping to set priorities and supporting the platform module team
- Support the Platform Owner in developing the strategic roadmap for the lifecycle of the platform, platform module features, and services, ensuring maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Platform Owners to ensure there is a coordinated and seamless strategic plan for platforms and platform module features within their function.
- Work with the platform and product teams to continually seek ways to improve the customer experience and deliver high quality, cost-effective, added value platform service and functionality.
- Utilise insight from the Customer Relationship Management teams to identify and deliver creative solutions that address customer needs and develop the platforms.
- Support the development and maintenance of strategic third-party relationships, identifying opportunities to further benefit from the knowledge, expertise, and services of third parties.
- Support the promotion of user-centred and agile ways of working, and to ensure the model for multidisciplinary teams works effectively.
- Contribute to technical conversations that support for the Evergreen model of change across M365, Power Platform and SharePoint.
- Support the development of internal software solutions that support and streamline business processes.
- Promote the use of low code/no code tools to help staff identify business opportunities.
*Essential Criteria*
- Experience supporting and developing strategic technical solutions, navigating ambiguity, and operating at a strategic level within complex organisations.
- Experience supporting teams through times of change and fostering a positive and inclusive culture of trust and autonomy.
- An in depth understanding of the M365 ecosystem to inform an understanding of the opportunities afforded to HMRC.
- Awareness and knowledge SAAS/PAAS products including industry best practices, frameworks, and processes.
- An awareness of PowerShell scripting and an understanding of the role it plays in platform administration.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge and experience of the M365 and Power Platform Admin centres and how this is used to implement tenant wide configurations.
- An understanding of Microsoft's Evergreen process and its role in delivering new features and updates.
- Experience in communicating technical and non-technical concepts to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Security and Compliance features, our responsibilities and how these align with UK legislation.
- An awareness of Assistive Technology standards and regulations.
- An understanding and familiarity with Service Now.
