Role Overview:

  • To be responsible for developing and delivering the programme of Active Through Football within the Borough.
  • To contribute to the delivery of the wider programme of health, physical activity and sport and the strategic plan including delivery of neighbourhood and borough-wide projects and initiatives
  • To contribute to the delivery of the sport and physical activity team business plan including delivery of key projects and initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for developing and delivering the programme of Active Through Football within the Borough.
  • To contribute to the delivery of the wider programme of health, physical activity and sport and the strategic plan including delivery of neighbourhood and borough-wide projects and initiatives
  • Facilitate and manage relationships with local programme stakeholders (consortium members and wider programme partners), whilst developing new local relationships with community groups, organisations and service users
  • Coordinate and support ongoing community engagement and capacity building, ensuring that the Delivery Plan and approach are informed by insight and learning, and that the local community have ownership of these.
  • Ensure the work of the project is linked into wider place-based initiatives and plans through effective partnership and joint working across a wide range of relevant stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in relevant subject and/or equivalent experience
  • Experience of community engagement, links into communities and knowledge of networks linked to local communities.
  • Experience of managing multiple pieces of work or projects to successful conclusions.
  • Experience of managing relationships with external partners and working on behalf of an organisation to influence the successful delivery of services.
  • Ability to develop and implement creative and stimulating plans based on the needs of the community
  • Knowledge of relevant local and national strategies and initiatives including GM Moving and Place Partnerships
