The Role
At STEM Learning, part of our education offer is support to deliver improvement in STEM teaching and learning. This includes local CPD opportunities, personalized 1:1 guidance, and peer-to-peer collaboration. This support is available through various formats; at the National Centre, online at your own pace, live remote sessions, or in-person at local venues. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity, working alongside our current Project Officers to provide project management administration for STEM Learning's professional development programmes.
Key Tasks:
- Project Management Support: Day-to-day support with managing delivery plans, including activities, professional development, and resources.
- School Support: Working with consultants, internal STEM Learning teams, and external parties to ensure scheduled activity is successfully delivered.
- Communication and Collaboration: Facilitating communication and collaboration between schools, STEM Learning, and other stakeholders, including the devolved nations.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring project timelines and deadlines, tracking progress, identifying challenges, and providing updates to the project lead and other stakeholders.
- Resource Management: Managing resources, including funding and materials, to support delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with school staff and potentially community members to ensure their involvement and feedback.
In essence, the Project Assistant role is crucial for the success of STEM Learning's vision, acting as a central point of contact and support for all involved.

We are searching for a highly organised and proactive individual with a keen interest in project management and education, particularly within the STEM fields. You will be enthusiastic about supporting professional development initiatives and thrive in collaborative environments.

- Strong Organisational Skills: Able to manage multiple tasks and timelines efficiently, ensuring smooth delivery of professional development programmes.
- Proven Communication Skills: Comfortable liaising with internal teams, external consultants, schools, and stakeholders across the UK.
- Ability to Work Collaboratively: Works well alongside colleagues, contributing to a positive and productive working environment.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of tracking progress, identifying challenges, and maintaining accurate records to support monitoring and evaluation.
- Stakeholder-Focused: Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, such as schools and delivery facilitators, valuing their input and feedback to improve programme delivery.
- Technologically Adept: Comfortable using digital tools such as Microsoft 365 suite including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams.
- Professional Development: Willingness to develop expertise and learn new skills.
