Software Asset Management Analyst

Meet the Team On our team, you will have a rotating portfolio of targeted applications to review. You will collaborate closely with the Product Owner within Software Asset Management and internal stakeholders from various business organizations to analyze competing applications and agree on the recommended standard within Cisco. This will reduce friction and cost within Cisco by removing duplicate tooling and enhancing governance. Your Impact * Application Portfolio: Take charge of a dynamic, rotating portfolio of targeted software applications. Use your analytical acumen to conduct in-depth reviews, leveraging industry standards, advanced AI tooling, and Cisco best practices. * Collaborate and Influence: Partner closely with Product Owners, architects, security, and stakeholders from diverse business units. Facilitate consensus on recommended standards, reducing friction and duplication while maximizing value. * Drive Data-Driven Decisions: Research and synthesize spend, install, and usage metrics. Collect and analyze stakeholder use cases and perform feature comparisons to ensure solutions meet Cisco's evolving needs. * Present Impactful Insights: Develop and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to IT and cross-functional leadership at the monthly Software Standardization Board. Articulate your findings with confidence and clarity. * Champion Cisco Standards: Ensure proposed solutions meet internal gating criteria for architecture, security, accessibility, and user experience. Engage vendors to address feature gaps and align product roadmaps to Cisco's requirements. * Optimize Processes: Continuously review and enhance business procedures, policies, and operational documentation—ensuring knowledge is easily accessible via platforms like SharePoint. * Agile Delivery: Operate within an agile framework; create and update user stories in Jira, contribute to sprints, and help drive iterative improvements. * Lead and Support: Facilitate smooth onboarding and rollout of approved applications. Deputize for SAM leadership when needed, exemplifying Cisco's culture of ownership and accountability. Who are you? Minimum Requirements * Experience: 5+ years as a Business Analyst, in Software Asset Management, or a related role, demonstrating robust analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities. * Automation: Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Power Automate. * Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and process rigor. * Organizational Skills: Proven ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload in dynamic environments. * Communication: Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills; able to connect with both technical and business audiences. * Innovation: A creative approach to challenges and a continuous learning mindset. * Agility: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including requirements tracking, backlog grooming, and cross-functional collaboration. * Collaboration: Communicates and partners effectively with IT and business stakeholders at all levels. * Cisco Spirit: A "roll up your sleeves" attitude—hands-on, accountable, and always ready to drive program success. #WeAreCisco #WeAreCisco where every individual brings their unique skills and perspectives together to pursue our purpose of powering an inclusive future for all.
