Job Role & Key Responsibilities
Permanent, full-time role in Surrey overseeing mechanical and electrical installation and maintenance across multiple properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and carry out installation and maintenance of M&E systems, ensuring work meets required standards and deadlines
- Manage subcontractors and plan yearly maintenance schedules
- Liaise with departments to coordinate works across sites
- Check certification compliance with gas safe regulations and BS7671 electrical requirements
- Provide weekly and monthly reports
- Work with IT to develop maintenance software for tracking programmes and records
- Order parts, equipment, and contractor work as approved
- Maintain inventory of backup equipment and spare parts
- Respond to emergencies and unusual situations
- Provide cover for colleagues during absences and be on-call out of hours/weekends
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Communicate regularly with the Maintenance & Installations Manager
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance/mechanical installations, including AHUs, FCUs, and electrical installations up to 400v
- C&G or NVQ qualifications in M&E disciplines, including BS7671 18th Edition
- Good working knowledge of motors (star/delta, DOL, VSD), plumbing and heating systems
- Knowledge of vented/unvented systems and commercial catering gas safety
- Understanding of HSWA regulations and building codes
- Strong reporting and planning skills
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Supervisory experience
Desirable Skills:
- Broad understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems with proven cross-discipline ability
