Description
Are you organised, analytical, and love keeping things running like clockwork? Do you want to work in a fast-paced, dynamic e-commerce fulfilment environment where no two days are the same? We're looking for a dedicated professional to join our team in a hybrid capacity. When working on-site, you'll be based at our Bradford location (BD12). We're a leading 3PL business supporting some of the biggest and fastest-growing e-commerce brands, handling everything from warehousing and fulfilment to last-mile delivery. Our Category Assistants are at the heart of this operation, making sure the right supplies, services, and solutions are in place so our fulfilment centres run smoothly every single day. From packaging materials and warehouse equipment to transport services and indirect spend, you'll help manage the categories that keep our operations efficient, cost-effective, and ready to scale during peak e-commerce periods. Essentially, you'll be a key part of keeping our supply chain ticking while supporting a business that thrives on speed, accuracy, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities Of Our Category Assistant
- Assist the Category Team Lead in analysing sales, margin, and market data to support category strategies and performance improvements
- Prepare regular reports on KPIs, spend analysis, cost comparisons, and performance, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights
- Support communication with suppliers and internal teams, helping manage product information, pricing updates, and promotional activity
- Support standardisation and process improvement initiatives across all categories
- Raise purchase orders for your key suppliers and manage and monitor order progress
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the category team, helping with presentations, meetings, and ad-hoc projects
Skills, Knowledge, And Expertise Required Of The Category Assistant
- Understanding of procurement & category management principles
- Good understanding and awareness of supplier management, sourcing process and contract basics
- Awareness of service level agreements and how they operate
- Previous experience in a supply chain or logistics setting within procurement is desirable
