About The Role
Arm's Machine Learning group is building the next generation of AI/ML IP that will shape the future of compute. As a Staff Verification Engineer, you'll play a central role in verifying advanced hardware IP that powers efficient and scalable machine learning acceleration.
This role offers the chance to define cutting-edge verification strategies, develop high-performance environments, and tackle some of the toughest challenges in AI/ML. Collaboration is at the heart of the job — working with design, architecture, and software teams to deliver world-class solutions that raise the bar for performance and reliability. Excited to push the limits of what's possible? This is the place to do it
Responsibilities
Take the lead in shaping and executing verification plans for complex AI/ML IP at both block and subsystem levels. From building UVM-based environments to applying advanced methodologies, you'll ensure Arm's ML hardware achieves the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and robustness. Alongside project delivery, you'll also contribute to smarter flows, automation, and continuous improvement.
Key Focus Areas Include
- Designing and implementing scalable SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches.
- Applying constrained-random, coverage-driven, and assertion-based verification methods.
- Debugging complex issues across multiple platforms with speed and precision.
- Driving closure on functional and code coverage targets.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven success in hardware verification of complex digital IP.
- Strong knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Expertise in coverage-driven methodology and metric-based sign-off.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex designs using simulation platforms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams.
- Experience enhancing verification methodology, automation, and regression infrastructure.
What Will Help You Stand Out
- Experience with assertion-based or formal verification.
- Familiarity with AI/ML hardware architectures.
- Modelling microarchitecture with C/C++ or Python.
- Integrating high-level models (e.g., ML frameworks or performance models) into verification flows.
- Knowledge of Arm architecture and AMBA protocols.
- Understanding of safety, security, or reliability verification practices.
