Overview

We are working with a high growth business based in London, who due to high level success and expansion of their offering are adding to their highly skilled team.

We are hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, implement, and evolve scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role at the centre of our data and technology delivery and is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges, enabling automation, and driving innovation across teams.

How You Will Be Successful:

You'll play a hands-on role in guiding teams across multiple projects, offering technical leadership, supporting delivery, and helping shape solutions. With several initiatives running at once, you'll need to be comfortable switching focus and managing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and deliver robust, cloud-native architectures in Azure, supporting both product and data-driven workloads.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments using tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep, and embed best practices for CI/CD through platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket.
  • Build and manage containerised and serverless environments, including AKS (Kubernetes), Azure Container Apps, and Functions, to ensure flexibility and scalability.
  • Implement security, networking, and identity frameworks across Azure, covering areas such as Entra ID (Active Directory), Key Vault, Firewalls, VNets, and routing configurations.
  • Manage Azure database solutions, including Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and automate data workflows, including ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines, with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps methodologies.
  • Collaborate with analytics, application, and AI/ML teams to integrate Azure technologies into advanced data and intelligence solutions (e.g. Azure Foundry, Cognitive Services, and Search).
  • Champion FinOps and cost optimisation, applying best practices for monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Embed DevSecOps principles, incorporating Zero Trust models, service meshes, and secure automation into cloud delivery pipelines.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience designing and operating Azure-based cloud infrastructures at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and automation tooling.
  • Deep understanding of containerisation and orchestration, ideally AKS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • A passion for security, governance, and compliance, with hands-on experience in cloud identity and access management.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and scripting (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python).
