WORKSHOP MANAGER – Cox's Boatyard (Barton Turf)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the team at Cox's Boatyard for a Workshop Manager.

With a 180-berth marina, dinghy park, and a reputation for restoring beautiful wooden boats and Broads cruisers, we are proud of our heritage and passionate about the future. We're now looking for a workshop manager to join our friendly team and help keep our workshop running smoothly and to grow the business.

Hours: full time Mon - Fri

Salary: depending on experience

What you'll be doing

· Managing the workshop teams.

· Managing the work going in and out of the workshops.

· Morning talks and briefings with the workshop teams.

· Keeping the MD and office up to date with progress on jobs and taking responsibility for the rostering and allocation of planned works each week.

· Checking all the work has been completed and to the required high standard before leaving the workshop.

· Regular meetings with scheduling and the MD.

· Managing stock control / ordering materials.

What we're looking for

  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Adaptable and motivated.
  • High standard of work and conscientious.
  • Experience of managing a team within a boating environment would be helpful.
  • Experience in the construction / maintenance of boats.
  • Keen to promote and progress the business.
  • Boat moving and lifting experience.
  • An interest in boating is a bonus
