Be part of something special

Are you an inspirational and innovative teaching professional? We're a specialist independent Autism school just opened in September and growing quickly.

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic KS2 teacher? Or perhaps you're an outstanding Early Career Teacher (ECT), excited about developing your skills in a supportive and inspiring environment? If so, we invite you to become a part of our vibrant and growing SEN school, nestled in the breathtaking Surrey Hills.

About the Role

At Leith Hill School, we are seeking a dynamic and committed KS2 teacher who is passionate about making a real difference. Whether you're seasoned in the classroom or just beginning your teaching journey, you will have the opportunity to thrive in a role that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

  • As a core member of our teaching team, you will:
  • Deliver engaging and imaginative KS2.
  • Bring energy and creativity to your teaching, utilising innovative methods to inspire and motivate your students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate exciting cross-curricular opportunities across subjects.
  • Track, assess, and report on student progress, attainment, and engagement, contributing to termly internal and external reports shared with parents and governors.

Our Ethos & Your Role Beyond the Classroom

As a teacher in our SEN setting, you will play a key role in nurturing the wellbeing and personal development of our pupils. Most staff lead a small tutor group of 6–8 students, supporting their social and emotional growth and embodying the school's values and ethos each day.

While experience supporting autistic learners and knowledge of wider SEN would be advantageous, it is not essential. Full induction and ongoing training are provided as part of our commitment to professional excellence.

Why Leith Hill School?

Leith Hill School offers more than just a job — it's a chance to grow, collaborate, and innovate in a dynamic educational setting. As part of the Cavendish Education family of schools, we're proud to offer:

  • A nurturing and inclusive environment where staff feel valued and empowered.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development, with plenty of opportunities to expand your skills.
  • A culture that encourages creativity, teamwork, and fresh ideas.
  • Daily collaboration with other SEN schools in our network, promoting shared learning and support.
  • A free daily shuttle service from Dorking Station, making your commute easier and stress-free.
  • Breakfast and lunch provided during the school term.
  • EAP and wellbeing initiatives.
  • A comprehensive induction package to support transition from mainstream to specialist.
