Job Description

What will you be doing? 

This role is designed to provide comprehensive support to Financial Planners and Partners by ensuring timely, accurate completion of tasks throughout the advice process. The individual will not hold their own client bank, but will work closely with Partners to deliver high-quality client outcomes. Responsibilities span technical research, preparation of advice, and maintaining accurate records, while also supporting client interactions and meetings where required.

This is a hybrid working role with a requirement to be in the office 3 days per week.

As AFP/Paraplanner, your responsibilities will include among others:

  • Gather client information and documentation to support advice preparation.
  • Conduct technical research across a wide range of financial products and solutions.
  • Prepare suitability reports and supporting documentation for Financial Planners.
  • Ensure all advice-related tasks are completed accurately and uploaded to internal systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date client records in line with FCA and company standards.
  • Support Financial Planners in client meetings, including cashflow modelling and note-taking where required.
  • Ensure timely follow-up actions post-meeting, including updating systems and completing outstanding tasks.

Client Service & Relationship Support

  • Partner with Financial Planners to ensure clients receive the right advice to achieve their objectives.
  • Assist in maintaining strong client relationships through accurate and timely service delivery.
  • Respond to client queries where appropriate and escalate complex issues to the Financial Planner.
  • Strive for zero complaints; where issues arise, escalate promptly and assist in resolution.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all processes comply with FCA guidelines and internal policies.
  • Identify and report risks, breaches, or errors, and assist in implementing mitigating actions.
  • Maintain accurate Know Your Client (KYC) information to demonstrate suitability of advice.

Professional Standards

  • Manage workload effectively to meet agreed deadlines and service standards.
  • Communicate proactively with Financial Planners regarding expected delivery dates.
  • Maintain professionalism and lead by example in all interactions.

Continuous Development

  • Proactively enhance industry and company knowledge through CPD.
  • Participate in local projects to support the Financial Planning team.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should

  • Posses strong technical knowledge of financial planning processes and products.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professional approach and ability to lead by example.

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS)
  • A desire to develop further and to undertake relevant examinations and working towards Chartered status
