Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing support to individuals within a supported living accommodation in Longsight. We a looking for a support worker who has relevant experience within the homelessness sector, to support residents in their Move-On Journey, into more permanent accommodation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for helping others and be competent in documentation compliance.

Day-to-day in the hostel can be challenging and fast paced. You will need to have a great attitude to challenges and the ability to build rapport with any individual, as this will be crucial to the role.

Duties

- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure the best support is provided.

- taking ownership of your daily administration tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records.

- Deliver exceptional support to all service users, providing Person-Centred Care.

- Provide assistance to service users in managing finances, accessing external resources and encouraging engagement with support staff and external agencies.

- Basic IT skills required for documentation purposes.

Experience

Required:

- Strong communication skills in English

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Prior experience in a support worker role

-Basic IT skills

-Understanding of GDPR

-Experience of supporting homeless individuals

-Mental health experience

Nice-to-have:

- Experience in Benefits systems

  • Ex-offender experience

  • Drug & Alcohol addiction experience

  • Knowledge of ABEN Scheme/Homelessness projects
