Night Veterinarian – Melton Mowbray (New State-of-the-Art Hospital including CT, Opening April 2026)

We're thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team at Kings Veterinary Centre. This role is based in our brand-new, purpose-built Veterinary Hospital, opening April 2026 — a modern facility designed to support exceptional patient care and professional growth.

Why Join Us?

  • Work in a state-of-the-art new hospital – featuring five consult rooms (including a dedicated PTS room), separate dog and cat hospitals and wards, dedicated dental and X-ray suites, two fully equipped theatres, and a CT scanner.
  • Focus on what you do best – with strong administrative support from our HR, Health & Safety, and Finance teams, allowing you to concentrate on clinical excellence.
  • Join a collaborative, supportive team – where mentorship, open communication, and continuous learning are at the heart of what we do.
  • Access the latest diagnostic tools and technologies – and work alongside a highly skilled nursing team to deliver the best possible care for every patient.
  • Grow your career with us – through a wealth of CPD opportunities and leadership development programmes within the Linnaeus network.

The Team

We are a first opinion, RVCS-accredited veterinary hospital with 5 branches in Melton, Syston, Uppingham, Oakham, Market Harborough and Corby. We pride ourselves in offering on-site emergency care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our dedicated team of clinical and non-clinical staff provide high standards of bespoke, affordable care to our patients and our clients. We are heavily involved in the local community and actively support many local pet charities.

You'll have the backing of a dedicated administrative team (HR, H&S, finance) to handle the non-clinical details, freeing you to focus on veterinary excellence.

As part of the Linnaeus family, you'll also benefit from collaborating with like-minded colleagues across the group, attending clinical, business, and contributing to veterinary excellence on a wider scale.

What we're looking for

  • A confident Vet Surgeon with an ECC interest who enjoys working as part of a busy team
  • Clinical decision-making abilities, able to interpret diagnostics and make informed decisions.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and remains calm under pressure.
  • A confident, collaborative attitude that helps maintain a positive team culture and excellent client care relationship.

What we offer

  • 5-weeks holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
  • Relocation support
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Employer contribution pension scheme
  • Generous staff discount scheme
  • Life assurance
  • E-car salary sacrifice scheme
  • Enhanced equal family leave
  • Extensive internal and funded external CPD
