Head of Financial Reporting

A Consumer business who has an instantly recognisable product are currently recruiting for a Head of Financial Reporting on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will join a high performing team and manage a team of 5.
Some of the responsibilities of the successful Head of Financial Reporting:
- You will be responsible for all statutory financial reporting, quarterly and half yearly including coordinating Annual Report and Financial Statements.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and Finance teams to ensure all technical accounting matters are compliant with accounting standards and in-line with accounting policies, advising on any changes and updates to policies as we grow.
- Lead the relationship with our external auditors, ensuring the wider Finance team contributes effectively to the process. Coordinate the provision of internal audit services.
- Lead our second line Financial Controls team to implement the testing protocol and ensure adherence to our financial controls framework and compliance to shareholder requirements. Drive continual improvement in all areas of financial controls. Work closely with our auditors, stakeholders and external partners.
- Engage appropriately with external partners to obtain appropriate advice and guidance on complex tax matters, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and payment of the correct taxes on a timely basis.
- Lead and develop a team of 6 to support delivery of your team's key responsibilities and partner across Finance to develop a culture of controls and accurate financial reporting.
Skills & experience of the successful Head of Financial Reporting:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA).
- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and ability to apply them to complex scenarios and preparation of financial statements
- Technical awareness and understanding of current and future controls requirements.
- Experience of leading a team and being adaptive to conflicting priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with experience of Finance ERP Systems is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal & external to the business
- A proactive individual that is passionate about driving change
