Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Secondary Maths Tutor to join our team on a part-time, self-employed basis. You'll work with small groups of students (maximum 3 per session) aged 11-16, helping them build mathematical confidence and achieve excellent results across all exam boards.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver engaging maths tuition to small groups (maximum 3 students) aged 11-16
· Plan and prepare tailored curriculum content to meet individual student needs
· Assess student progress regularly during testing weeks (every 6-8 weeks)
· Prepare students for GCSE exams across all exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.)
· Build strong relationships with students and parents, providing approachable support
· Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
· Collaborate with the team during regular KPI meetings and observations
· Use iPads and digital resources effectively to enhance learning
Essential Requirements
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - must hold
· Minimum 1 year teaching experience in secondary mathematics
· Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4
· Experience preparing students for GCSE examinations
· Excellent communication skills with students and parents
· Ability to differentiate learning within small group settings
· Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
· Commitment to safeguarding policies and training
Desirable Qualities
· Experience working in small group or tuition settings
· Ability to build confidence in students who may have struggled with maths
· Flexible approach to teaching methodologies
· Comfortable using technology and digital learning platforms
· Passion for helping students achieve their full potential
What We Offer
· Competitive hourly rate: £22-£30 per hour (depending on experience)

Working Hours
