The International Systematic Abuse Justice Organization (ISAJO)
About ISAJO
The International Systematic Abuse Justice Organization (ISAJO) is dedicated to eradicating systematic abuse worldwide by advocating for comprehensive legal reforms and effective rehabilitation of perpetrators. By doing so, we help prevent systematic abuse from occurring, reunite families, and allow more people to live in dignity, freedom, and self-determination. We collaborate with governments, communities, and organisations to create a world where exploitation is outlawed, justice is served, and survivors and their families can rebuild their lives with hope and empowerment.
Role Description
ISAJO is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Volunteer) to help shape and oversee our safeguarding framework as we expand globally. This is a remote, flexible role that focuses on ensuring our systems, partnerships, and online engagement are safe, ethical, and compliant with UK and international standards.
The DSL will:
- Lead ISAJO's safeguarding strategy and policy implementation
- Advise trustees and teams on best practice in safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection
- Review the design of online reporting and partnership systems to ensure safety and compliance
- Provide or source safeguarding training for staff, trustees, and volunteers
- Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding matters (ISAJO does not provide direct crisis or casework support)
You can shape your involvement — from governance and risk advice to developing safe digital processes or guiding partner standards. At the moment, we are a very small organisation, newly formed, and in the start-up phase looking for funding. That is why we are keen on laying safeguarding foundations right, but the actual work needed is small, as we are only a handful of people.
Qualifications
- Understanding of UK safeguarding principles and Charity Commission expectations
- Experience in policy, compliance, risk management, or welfare
- Professional integrity, emotional intelligence, and sound judgment
- Commitment to human rights, dignity, and justice
- Excellent communication and digital collaboration skills
Desirable:
- Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead or equivalent training (or willingness to undertake it)
- Experience in the non-profit, education, or human rights sectors
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or ethical data practices
Commitment
- Volunteer position · Approx. 2–4 hours per week
- Fully remote, flexible around your schedule (UK time zone preferred)
Why Volunteer with ISAJO
We aim to create win-win situations for our volunteers — your professional growth and interests matter to us as much as your contribution to ISAJO's mission.
You'll join a supportive, international team that values openness, adaptability, collaboration, and learning.
