An exciting opportunity for an Arts Assistant role has arisen within the Design and Environment team, at CW+.

We are looking for applicants interested in arts and health, who are motivated, have excellent communication skills and can work on their own and as part of a team. This is a supportive role and will enable applicants to gain practical experience of office work and arts programming in a healthcare setting.

Job Purpose

The role of arts assistant within the team will provide important assistance and co-ordination support to the delivery of our Arts programme at the charity.

Job profile

  • Supporting the Director of Patient Environment and the Patient Environment team with general administrative duties.
  • To support projects ensuring the smooth running of our programme.
  • Assist with delivering arts projects across the programme.

Key responsibilities and duties

  1. Support the Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre programme delivery including liaising with staff, artists, partners and patients at West Middlesex Hospital.
  2. To support the continued growth and development of the arts programme by undertaking any additional tasks reasonably requested by the Arts Manager (WMUH).
  3. Support the maintenance of the art collection at West Middlesex hospital including artwork audit, artwork labelling and conservation monitoring.
  4. To manage a programme of maintenance for digital projects across the West Middlesex site, ensuring that interventions are working and problem-solving issues with technology as they arise.
  5. Support arts/design programme projects by assisting with consultation, liaising with suppliers, and assisting with installations at West Middlesex Hospital.
  6. Provide general administration support to the Arts Team where needed, arranging internal/external meetings, maintaining project plans, and answering general enquiries to the arts programme.
  7. Support the impact and evaluation programme aiding with research and impact measurement initiatives.
  8. Support the organisation and delivery of events such as talks, receptions and openings.
  9. Support colleagues, contributing to a happy and productive, values-driven working environment.
  10. Champion CW+'s mission, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Person specification

Essential

  • Pro-active, positive, 'can-do' attitude: a real self-starter
  • Professional and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Expert in using Microsoft Office, (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Demonstratable interest in the arts
  • Comfortable working in a hospital/clinical environment

Desirable

  • Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience of using the arts within a healthcare setting

Key terms and benefits

Hours: 35 per week (normally 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday)

Pension: employer contribution of 8%

Holiday: 27 days per annum, plus UK bank holidays
