OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to join our flourishing team at London Heathrow airport, in the role of Operations Manager. Our reputation has been built upon reliability and quality of service and are seeking a candidate who has a similar ethical drive to ensure we continue to develop.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To oversee and take account of the cabin cleaning operation
- Ensure weekly operational and people management reports are submitted within a timely manner
- Effectively build and maintain a strong relationship with clients and suppliers
- Proactively managing the operation inclusive of resource management and planning
- Responsible for on-site risk assessments
- Manage projects parallel to one another and ensure they are completed within a timely manner
- Demonstrate innovation to internal processes and procedures enabling positive change to benefit the company and client
- Must be solutions focused, and have worked in a high paced environment
- Responsible for ensuring SLAs are met and/or delivered above or on target expected
- Management of financial budgets in line with business development, inclusive of (but not limited to) purchase order sign offs and operational budgets
- Establish KPI gaps and reinforce training and H&S to all current and new staff
- Ensure the operation is in line with the required standards set by LHR airport and legislated requirements
- Ensuring all company policies are adhered to by employees within the operation
- Motivate, allocate, supervise and performance manage the leadership team
- Drive culture of excellence in customer service
- Deputise for the General Manager (as and when required)
- Ensure the staff remain compliant with all H&S and Airport bylaws whilst active in the operation and within the terminal areas, including the correct use of PPE
- Assist with any other tasks that is reasonably acceptable
- Report any vehicle or equipment faults as they arise and ensure they are rectified in a timely manner by liaising with the relevant companies.
- Oversee the vehicle and equipment maintenance contracts via regular meetings, ensuring any costs remain within budget and the vehicles meet the HAL regulations
- Ensure all vehicle insurance is kept updated, PAT tests are carried out and recorded and all LOLA's are up to date
- Ensure that the team remain compliant in relation to all training requirements, including medicals, airside driving permits, vehicle driving and operating training
- Respond immediately to all accidents and report to the Senior Management Team and liaise directly with the HAL (when required)
- Take any action require following the assessment/investigation of any accidents
- Liaise with the airport authority for any changes to vehicles, equipment, uniform etc for the team
Person Specification:
- Excellent written and spoken (face to face and phone) communication skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Ability to show initiative in developing the role and to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexibly in a small team, building strong day-to-day relationships with colleagues
Essential
- Previous management experience preferred
- Valid driving license
- Willing to work flexibly when needed
- Computer literate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- High level of commitment and flexibility required
