What you will do:
Support the MLRO/Chief FCCO in ensuring SIEL maintains effective systems and controls to meet legal and regulatory requirements relating to money laundering, terrorist financing, financial sanctions, fraud, tax evasion, bribery & corruption and market abuse.
Act as the team manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the Firm's FCC team and deputise for the MLRO in their absence.
Support in the drafting, coordinating, monitoring and maintenance of SIEL's FCC policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support to the First Line of Defence (1LOD) AML Operations team and other business areas in their implementation and ongoing oversight of the FCC framework.
Support the delivery of a robust 2LOD financial crime oversight monitoring and testing.
Support with the annual financial crime risk assessments to maintain effectiveness of the FCC control framework.
Review and investigate of internal suspicious activity reports and fraud activities.
Help identify opportunities for streamlining processes and implement efficiencies that will lead to enhanced client experience.
Foster a strong culture of compliance by promoting awareness and understanding of financial crime issues at all levels of the Firm.
Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the UK legislation, regulations and guidance relating to financial crime.
Dealing with Ad-hoc project-based tasks as needed.
What we need from you:
Proven background knowledge in financial crime experience (AML, Sanctions, Fraud, ABC, Facilitation of Anti-Tax Evasion and Market Abuse), preferably with exposure to Private Banking and Assessment Management
Proven experience in managing teams is required
Must have a Financial Crime related qualification (ICA, ACAMs or equivalent)
Be able to work on their own initiative and enjoy the responsibility of delivering outcomes
Excellent analytical, research and critical thinking skills, with an ability to make informed judgements
Logical thinker with an attention to detail
Strong verbal, written communication skills and report writing skills
A collaborative team player, approachable, self-efficient and influences a positive work environment
Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast paced environment
High degree of personal and professional integrity.
