Recruitment process: Competency Based Interview

At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. But we need to go much further and much faster. That's why we're looking for someone talented, someone determined, someone like you.

We are looking for a Senior Business Support Executive to join Cancer Research UK Business Operations team.  You'll use your exceptional organisation and coordination skills to deliver outstanding operational support to the Supporter Led Fundraising department. You will manage a network of key stakeholders, providing optimal project support with tools, systems and processes, allowing supporter facing staff to maximise fundraising opportunities and deliver a great supporter experience in line with department strategy.

What will I be doing?
  • Working in partnership with other teams across the organisation and within Supporter Led Fundraising to ensure a consistent and seamless experience for all supporters.

  • Working with all operational colleagues to ensure operational support is delivered efficiently, enabling the department to deliver its core business activities

  • Providing operational support to the Compliance Manager and always adhering to all CRUK data protection and financial policies

  • Establishing a key role in the development and streamlining of processes, procedures and documentation for internal staff and external supporter audiences to ensure efficiencies and the best possible supporter journey

  • Ensuring department details are kept up to date on all relevant touchpoints and all supporter activity is accurately recorded on our systems to agreed standards and timeframes

  • Overseeing department inboxes and internal queries, ensuring trends are acted upon in conjunction with the Business Operations Manager

  • Supporting a range of Supporter Led Fundraising and Operations projects to ensure milestones are met by sharing subject matter expertise and knowledge of internal processes, and by managing relationships with relevant stakeholders

What skills will I need?
  • Relevant experience of organisation and coordination, with the ability to work to tight deadlines, manage own workload, and delegate work within a team

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with strong experience of stakeholder management

  • Relevant experience of building strong professional relationships with a range of internal stakeholders at all levels

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to plan effectively, manage multiple activities and deliver to deadlines

  • A good understanding of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs is advantageous

What will I gain?

Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer. We think that's impressive.

In return, we make sure you are supported by a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities and high-quality tools, policies and processes to enable you to do your job well.

Our benefits package includes a substantial retirement plan, a generous and flexible leave allowance, discounts on anything from travel to technology, gym membership, and much more.

We don't forget people have lives outside of work too and so we actively encourage a flexible working culture.

Our work – from funding cutting-edge research to developing public policy – will change the world. It's exciting to be part of our team.
