Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee our service department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our team meets customer needs while maintaining high standards of service quality. The Service Manager will be responsible for managing operations, training staff, and driving sales through effective upselling techniques.
Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the service department to ensure efficiency and productivity. Regularly reporting to Senior Management. An understanding of managing productivity is a must.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a timely manner.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in customer interaction, mechanical knowledge, and cash handling procedures. A good knowledge of process based training is beneficial. An understanding of business administration beneficial.
- Implement upselling strategies to maximise sales opportunities during customer interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies daily.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, set goals, and encourage professional development.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a service environment is essential.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting issues and guiding staff.
- Experience with cash handling and financial transactions is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective team management and customer interaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
