Durham, Durham, United Kingdom Fourblue Full time £60,000 - £80,000 per year

Project Manager

County Durham

Circa £75,000 + car/car allowance

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering high-voltage infrastructure projects? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking Independent Connection Provider (ICP) at the forefront of the UK's energy transition, designing and building innovative grid connections that power commercial, industrial, and renewable developments nationwide.

The Role

As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of end-to-end delivery of high-voltage (up to 132kV) connection projects ensuring they're delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. From design through to commissioning, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with clients, DNOs, and IDNOs to bring complex projects to life.

This role is site-based in County Durham, with some travel required to oversee future projects across the UK.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Manage all phases of HV connection projects from design and procurement to construction and commissioning
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Coordinate engineers, site managers, and contractors to drive effective collaboration and successful outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and network operators, ensuring exceptional service delivery
  • Identify risks, monitor budgets and schedules, and proactively manage project performance
  • Maintain rigorous health & safety practices in line with CDM and industry legislation
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and quality checks to uphold best-in-class delivery

Criteria for the Project Manager:

  • Proven experience managing projects within an ICP, DNO, or utility contractor environment working up to 132kV
  • Strong technical knowledge of HV electrical systems, including substations, cabling, transformers, and switchgear
  • Solid understanding of DNO/IDNO standards and industry regulations (e.g. G99, G100, ENA recommendations)
  • Demonstrable project management skills covering budgets, schedules, and risk
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and CDM regulations
  • Full UK driving licence

You'll be joining a dynamic and growing business that's making a tangible impact on the UK's clean energy future. If you're driven, technically astute, and ready to lead major HV projects with autonomy and purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
