Fenestration Technical Specialist – Scotland (UK-wide Projects)

Reporting to the Director. Primarily office-based in Dalgety Bay, Fife, Scotland, with occasional site visits across the UK

Job Summary:

Join our team as a Fenestration Technical Specialist and take a leading role in designing, installing, and maintaining premium windows and doors systems for a variety of high-end residential and commercial projects. You'll work closely with suppliers, clients, architects, and builders to deliver bespoke solutions that meet the highest standards of functionality, aesthetics, and energy efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Product Selection: Work closely with clients to choose appropriate fenestration products based on their needs, technical requirements, and energy efficiency goals.
  • Project Management: Manage fenestration projects from start to finish, including coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
  • Installation Oversight: Ensure all installations meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards, supervising the installation process to maintain high standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical advice on product specifications, thermal performance, and soundproofing. Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Client Proposals: Work with clients to produce tailored proposals, including cost estimates, technical specifications, and project timelines.
  • Post-Installation Support: Offer troubleshooting and maintenance services for existing window and door systems.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues with existing window and door systems, providing repair or replacement services as needed.
  • Documentation: Prepare project reports, cost estimates, and proposals. Ensure all necessary documentation is maintained for installation and compliance purposes.

Your Profile:

  • Proven experience in the fenestration industry or a related field.
  • Knowledge of windows, doors, curtain walling, and glazing systems.
  • Experience with CAD or other design software for window and door design.
  • Familiarity with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for both client-facing and internal team interactions.
  • Full UK driving license with flexibility to travel to job sites as needed.

Desired Skills:

  • Passive House expertise
  • Knowledge of thermal and acoustic performance in fenestration.
  • Certification in fenestration installation or a related discipline is an advantage.
  • Wintergarden, glass extension and garden room experience.

Pay & Job Type

  • Competitive salary (Up to £40k + bonus depending on experience). We encourage both experienced specialists and people willing to bring core CAD/Technical strengths who have the potential to step up into a developing role.
