What is the opportunity?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Director to join the RBC Private Wealth Sales Enablement Team in the London. The primary purpose of this newly created role is to embed structure and focus to the activities of all Relationship Managers, Investment Managers and Wealth Planners within Private Wealth, in both London and Jersey. The successful candidate will work with the Private Wealth leadership team and sales teams, leading to superior client outcomes, winning new clients and deepening wallet share of existing clients.
Success will be shaped by the ability to extract valuable insights from our extensive proprietary data, by driving more consistent adoption of sales best practices across the client facing teams and developing future talent.
RBC's expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Drive focused sales discipline and accountability within the Relationship Managers, Investment Managers and Wealth Planners by leading and supporting.
- Leverage Salesforce and other proprietary data to increase sales activity, gain insights and improve sales performance management information and reporting – identify and understand why and how wins / losses occur.
- Ownership for the sales methodology Creating More Value (CMV) – responsible for maintaining and evolving content as well as methodology adoption across the Relationship Managers, Wealth Planners and Investment Managers.
- Review and approve all Private Wealth pitch and review decks in Wrike to ensure that they are in line with CMV.
- Ownership of Go to Market content for Private Wealth target segments.
- Challenge legacy sales habits and assist the client facing teams to deliver client focused, continuous and sustainable AUM growth for Private Wealth.
- Work in partnership with the Relationship Managers to better monitor and manage all aspects of the sales process – origination, pipeline management, closing / losses and Annual Reviews.
- Own and be accountable for all triage / web leads passed to Private Wealth and resulting management information and reporting.
- Track Relationship Manager, Wealth Planner and Investment Manager activity to ensure alignment with procedures and to obtain an understanding of outcomes.
- Help improve sales reporting mechanisms for Private Wealth with the use of data to support client profitability and determine areas of focus for future business development.
- Take ownership of and enhance existing Associate Development Programme (ADP), to support the development of Associates into competent sales professionals.
- Take the lead in ensuring Relationship Managers are delivering a true and correct pipeline and sale pitch documents are delivered in line with our procedures and CMV methodology.
- Utilize the data we have to deliver meaningful Insights regarding Relationship Manager performance and Prospect/ Client needs.

Must-have
- Experience within a private bank, in a high-level performance sales environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support colleagues whilst challenging assumptions to effect change.
- A passionate problem solver, bringing solutions, making recommendations and driving implementation of agreed approach.
- Refined interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyse a broad range of Management Information to identify key insights and communicate findings clearly and effectively to a non-technical audience.
- Project management skills.
- Strong Relationship builder at senior level, able to establish relationships and sustaining credibility with key executives and senior management.
- Demonstrating insight into business issues and trends along with their industry and client implications.
