CPS Group are looking for experienced
Drupal Developer
to
lead the technical development and architecture of its Drupal-based web platforms. The role involves managing complex web projects, mentoring junior developers, and delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable web solutions. This role can be based at the Swansea, Carmarthen, or Birmingham locations, with an expectation of two days onsite per week.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation, translating requirements into robust technical solutions, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our digital services.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise-level Drupal applications, ensuring security, performance, and scalability.
- Design and implement complex backend systems using PHP and Drupal 10 to support web services.
- Develop and maintain front-end solutions with TypeScript, Twig, and Tailwind CSS, ensuring responsive design principles.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers, including code reviews and guidance on best practices.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
- Manage version control and deployment workflows using Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Jira.
- Use tools like Composer, Drush, and DDEV for efficient environment and dependency management.
- Ensure web accessibility compliance and SEO best practices.
- Produce clear technical documentation for all development work.
- Fulfil Health and Safety responsibilities and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Support sustainability initiatives and work ethically and responsibly.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in Drupal development (Drupal 10+ preferred).
- Experience with cloud hosting platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Strong coding skills in PHP and knowledge of Composer pipelines.
- Experience with front-end technologies including Twig, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript.
- Proven track record in leading technical projects and mentoring developers.
- Knowledge of web security best practices.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Relevant technical certifications in Drupal or web technologies.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and agile methodologies.
