Job Summary

We are expanding our wonderful team here at The Lighthouse We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.

Responsibilities

  • The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for supporting the Room Leader and working as part of a team.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere that encourages participation and exploration.
  • Provide high-quality childcare in a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of each child.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining records of their development and communicating findings with parents.
  • Foster leadership skills by guiding teaching assistants and supporting their professional growth.
  • Drive initiatives that promote early childhood education best practices within the nursery setting.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Supervise children during activities, meals, naps, and play.

Experience

  • A recognised, full and relevant Level 2 in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children and families.
  • Proven ability to manage room dynamics while maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Experience in developing age-appropriate educational activities that stimulate children's curiosity and learning is advantageous.
