The Opportunity

We're seeking a visionary and technically proficient
Manager
or
Director of Business Development
a
nd Fundraising
to join our leadership team. This role goes beyond deal-making: you will help shape our go-to-market strategy, define and execute the sales and marketing plan,
lead fundraising strategy and execution
, and provide strategic input into our business roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive
    sales, marketing, and fundraising
    strategy aligned to the company's roadmap.
  • Build and manage a
    qualified pipeline
    of enterprise customers, strategic partners, and
    investors
    (angels, VCs, corporates).
  • Identify and secure high-value partnerships, customers, and market segments.
  • Provide input into product-market fit, customer positioning, and commercialization strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, R&D, executive leadership) to align market strategies with product development and fundraising milestones.
  • Represent All Focal Optics at industry events, trade shows, investor forums, and client meetings to raise awareness and generate leads.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Own fundraising execution: craft the narrative, pitch materials, and data room; run outreach, diligence, and term-sheet processes.
  • Build and maintain investor relationships; manage
    pipeline, CRM, and reporting
    .
  • Partner with leadership on
    financial models
    , KPI frameworks, and board/investor updates.
  • Pursue
    non-dilutive funding
    opportunities (grants, R&D credits, strategic programs) and manage applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven success in business development, strategic sales, or commercial leadership in a high-tech or optics-based environment.
  • Demonstrated track record
    leading fundraising
    (e.g., pre-seed/seed/Series A) or securing significant non-dilutive funding.
  • Experience creating and executing sales and marketing plans aligned with technical product roadmaps.
  • Ability to bridge technical depth with market needs and communicate value effectively to customers and investors.
  • 5–10+ years of relevant experience (Director-level candidates should have 10+ years and experience leading growth and fundraising initiatives).
  • MBA or additional business training is a strong asset.
