What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Credit Underwriter, you'll play a key role in shaping credit decisions and structuring deals that support the growth of farming businesses across the UK. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing credit applications for asset finance, secured loans, and revolving credit facilities.
  • Conducting in-depth financial analysis of agricultural businesses, including cash flow modelling and sector-specific risk evaluation.
  • Structuring transactions in line with internal credit policy and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and tailor credit solutions.
  • Presenting recommendations to the Credit Committee and contributing to credit policy development.
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and supporting early intervention strategies.
  • Staying abreast of agricultural market trends, commodity pricing, and regulatory developments.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in credit underwriting, ideally within asset finance or agricultural lending.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural business models and seasonal cash flow dynamics.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in unregulated lending environments is a plus.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., ICAEW, CFA, or agricultural finance certifications) are advantageous.
