Gas & Heating Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time (47.5 hours per week)

Location: Richmond upon Thames & surrounding areas

About the Role

You'll carry out servicing, breakdowns and repairs on domestic heating systems, with occasional commercial work. This is a field-based role covering Richmond upon Thames and nearby areas. You'll work independently and as part of a team, supported by experienced lead engineers and office staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Boiler servicing, diagnostics and repairs
  • Central heating breakdowns and fault finding
  • Installation and repair of heating controls
  • Central heating system pipework repairs/installation
  • Wiring of central heating systems (training provided if needed)
  • Planned maintenance on heating systems
  • Gas leak investigation and repair
  • Assisting with appliance/system installations
  • Using job management software to update job progress
  • Professional customer communication on-site
  • Reporting to lead engineers and office team

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Gas/Heating Engineer
  • Gas Safe registered (current)
  • Good knowledge of boiler diagnostics & breakdowns
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence (held for at least 2 years)
  • Must pass DBS check and licence check

Bonus (not essential):

  • Experience in plumbing
  • Interest in learning additional trades (air conditioning, electrical, refrigeration – training can be provided)
