Due to exciting growth in our business, we have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Operative working for our grounds maintenance department based from our Depot 3 miles South of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Job Purpose

As a Multi Skilled Operative, your primary role, will be working with one of our grounds maintenance teams and also providing support to our growing external cleansing division.

Tasks involving grass cutting, hedge cutting, weeding, leaf clearance and other associated grounds related works, with also occasional Jet washing, gutter clearance and external property cleansing.

This is a varied role providing excellent room for growth within a business that is growing rapidly.

Responsibilities:

  • Grass Cutting, Hedge cutting, Litter Picking, Weed Control, Salting & Gritting & Other grounds based activities.
  • Gutter clearance, jet washing and moss removal. (Training Provided)
  • Undertake basic servicing and checks on all machinery and in line with manufacture guidelines and servicing schedules.
  • Undertake regular checking and reporting of the condition of power tools to ensure all guards and safety devices are in place and in good working order.
  • Comply with all company and depot procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure that you observe and follow all Health & Safety procedures in a safe manner.

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of Grounds Maintenance or Landscaping works.
  • Practical use of ride-on mowers, hedge trimmers, strimmers, tractors and PTO equipment desirable.
  • A demonstrable ability to establish and sustain good working relationships within a team environment and the ability and initiative to work alone.
  • Hold a clean valid driving licence, with legal and practical ability to use a trailer.
  • Relevant NVQ or City and Guilds qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
  • Spraying Certificates PA1 & PA6 required.
  • Experience with using petrol two-stroke grass/hedge cutting equipment.
  • Flexible in approach to work and willing to work outside in all weather.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £12.22-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
