Salisbury SP DJ, United Kingdom Rise:61 Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 youth workers to join our team.

The Role

If you are the ideal person we're looking for, you are a person who loves young people and helping them thrive. Great quality youth work is at the heart of what we do at Rise:61. You'll take the lead on delivering a range of activities, ensuring young people have access to sessions that are fun, safe, challenging and developmental.

You'll create a welcoming and positive environment within each session you run, helping young people of all abilities make friends, learn new things, build confidence and have fun. You'll provide encouragement and guidance, support and challenge and act as a positive role model.

For our part, we will be a charity that you love being part of, offering you all the support and encouragement you need to not just do the job well, but flourish as a person. How we care for our team really matters to us, and this will reflect in how this job looks and how we look after you. That said, this role will challenge and push you too, but we will journey alongside you helping you develop and learn along the journey.

About you

This is a chance to use your passion to inspire young people, help them stay active, grow in confidence and feel part of a community where they belong. You will enjoy coaching and motivating young people, supporting them to feel at ease and grow in confidence.

You will be comfortable working in a values-driven organisation with an innovative spirit, which means that you'll need to muck in with all sorts of youth and community related activities.

We are particularly interested in applications from the community from people who would like to grow and develop personally and professionally through this role and are keen to learn.

If you have a particular skill set in an area such as bike riding and jumping, drama, creative arts, or simply a passion for engaging with young people and seeing them thrive, we'd love to hear from you. (N.B. in the coming weeks a pump and jump track will be built on the estate and we want to maximise our engagement with young people in this space).

We are deliberately advertising this post beyond our own network because we hope we'll find applicants with a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We value diversity in all forms, and we believe that increased diversity will only make our charity better.

We encourage any successful candidate to live on the estate we serve.
