ABOUT THE ROLE

Sterling Nova Staffing is seeking professional, reliable SIA-licensed Security Guards to protect people, property and premises across a variety of locations including supported living services, commercial buildings, retail, construction sites, concierge settings and events.

You will provide a visible, reassuring security presence, monitor risk, respond to incidents, and ensure each site remains safe and secure at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Protection & Safety

  • Patrol premises and conduct safety checks
  • Protect staff, residents, customers and visitors
  • Prevent unauthorised access, theft or vandalism
  • Respond to alarms and incidents promptly

2. Access Control & Visitor Management

  • Monitor and control entry/exit points
  • Verify identification and permit access only where authorised
  • Maintain accurate visitor and contractor logs
  • Issue passes and ensure compliance with site procedures

3. Incident Response

  • Respond to emergencies calmly and professionally
  • Resolve or report conflicts and disturbances
  • Call emergency services when required
  • Provide detailed incident reports and handover notes

4. Surveillance & Monitoring

  • Monitor CCTV (if applicable)
  • Report suspicious behaviour immediately
  • Conduct risk assessments and escalate concerns

5. Customer Service & Communication

  • Provide a polite, professional point of contact
  • Assist residents, staff and customers with queries
  • Offer reassurance and conflict de-escalation
  • Maintain a presentable and confident security presence

6. Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Complete accurate daily occurrence logs
  • Record incidents, hazards and maintenance issues
  • Follow reporting procedures without delay
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards

7. Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Adhere to SIA regulations at all times
  • Follow site-specific assignment instructions
  • Comply with safeguarding, health & safety policies
  • Wear full uniform and carry valid SIA licence on duty

REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL)

  • Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor Licence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism and reliability
  • Ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS (required for some care/supported living sites)

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • First Aid certificate
  • Experience in supported living, care or vulnerable adult environments
  • CCTV SIA Licence (PSS)
  • Training in conflict management or de-escalation
