Team Structure
This is a newly created role reporting to the Head of Responsible Business. The role holder will work closely with the Head of Responsible Business, Head of Workplace, Head of Supplier Management, HSEQ Manager and the Responsible Business Committee to develop and execute the firm's environmental sustainability strategy.
Main Responsibilities
Strategy Development & Implementation:
- Lead the development and execution of the firm's environmental sustainability strategy.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate sustainability considerations into business processes and decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, clients, and third-party organizations.
- Act as a point of contact for sustainability-related inquiries and foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
Policy And Process Development
- Develop and communicate sustainability policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practice standards. Embed sustainability in relevant policies and practices.
- Stay informed of emerging trends and legislation in sustainability, adjusting strategies and policies accordingly.
Metrics & Reporting
- Manage and monitor sustainability key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and report the impact of sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare regular briefings for the Responsible Business Committee and senior management, tracking progress against goals and identifying areas for improvement.
Engagement And Upskilling
- Provide training, resources, and support to colleagues in key roles to enable them to integrate sustainability into their roles. E.g. Work closely with the Head of Supplier Management and Planning to integrate sustainability principles into the purchasing and ongoing supplier management processes.
- Develop and implement programs to engage employees in sustainable practices, supporting their performance and development.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and assess sustainability-related risks and opportunities, seeking innovative solutions and best practices for continuous improvement.
- Lead efforts to obtain and maintain relevant certifications and recognition.
Attributes/Skills Required
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Management).
- Proven experience in a sustainability role, preferably within professional services or corporate environments.
- In-depth knowledge of existing and emerging sustainability measurement and reporting frameworks and standards.
- Strong project management and analytical skills with the ability to drive initiatives from conception to implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
