Howden is a collective – a group of talented and passionate people all around the world. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 18,000 employees spanning over 100 countries.
People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It's what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you'll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.
We're looking for a dynamic HR Process Manager to support the design, governance, and delivery of global HR processes across a growing, complex organization. This role is key to driving operational excellence, ensuring alignment across policy, procedures, and standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
You'll work closely with HR, compliance, and project teams to identify opportunities, solve problems, and implement scalable solutions.
You'll need to be agile in your approach, capable of thinking strategically and holistically, constructively challenging assumptions, and building strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the global HR process review, collaborating with global HR teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals and best practices.
- Support the governance of HR processes, including taxonomy, documentation, and regular review cycles, monitoring process effectiveness, making necessary adjustments and improvements as needed.
- Partner with HR teams to streamline and automate processes within Workday and other systems.
- Develop and maintain process maps, incorporating local legal requirements where needed.
- Drive process improvement initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring timely execution and adoption.
- Collaborate with compliance and policy teams to ensure processes meet audit and regulatory standards.
- Support HR ops with process improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
- Promote innovation and knowledge sharing across the HR function.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in HR operations.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing and managing global HR processes in large or scaling organizations.
- Strong understanding of dependencies across policy, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Skilled in HR systems (especially Workday), process improvement, and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate across functions.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we're looking for individuals who share the same values as us:
Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new
We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges
We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond
We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs. Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.
If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it's the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role's criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.
*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
