Salary: Competitive + bonus and benefits

Location: Flexible/Hybrid within the UK

We make health happen
At Bupa, we're on a mission to become the world's most customer-centric healthcare company. Our purpose is simple but powerful: helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. That's why we've launched our global strategy, Savannah27, which focuses on customer, cloud, and connected care.

Partnerships are at the heart of this strategy. As our new Strategic Partnerships Development Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare by identifying and securing high-impact partnerships that bring our vision to life. You'll be joining a team that's passionate about innovation, digital health, and delivering real value to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Bupa's partnerships strategy, working closely with the Director of Partnerships & Affinity.
  • Identify and secure new large-scale partnership opportunities, particularly in the digital health and wellbeing space.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects, using insight-based selling to create compelling, mutually beneficial proposals.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and manage the full sales cycle, including RFP/RFI responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (pricing, product, commercial finance) to develop winning strategies.
  • Map the competitive landscape and identify key contract renewal and tender timelines.
  • Represent Bupa at industry events and act as a trusted ambassador for our brand.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and regulatory excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience in business development or partnerships, ideally within healthcare, insurance, or digital wellbeing.
  • A strong network and proven track record of building and scaling partnerships.
  • Experience managing complex sales processes and negotiating high-value deals.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to spot opportunities and drive results.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a collaborative approach to working across teams.
  • Knowledge of UK financial services or retail brand partnerships is a plus.

Benefits
Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people. Viva is our global wellbeing programme and includes all aspects of our health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. We support flexible working and have a range of family-friendly benefits.

Joining Bupa in this role you will receive the following benefits and more:

  • Private medical insurance
  • 25 days holiday, increasing with service
  • Bonus scheme (details to be added)
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Pension scheme
  • Discounts on Bupa products and services
