The Head of Finance (CS&I) will take up two critical objectives:

  • To ensure that the business understands the performance of the international marketing function (which includes our Product Innovation capability), and to business partner the function to enhance performance.

  • To lead the non-financial reporting agenda across the Twinings Ovo group, ensuring that we fulfil quarterly and annual reporting requirements and are ready for upcoming legislation required by ABF including CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence), with dotted line leadership of our ESG analyst.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Global Consumer, Sustainability & Innovation Performance

Innovation

  • ROI/RORE on innovation: Lead the development and embed best practice (and lead cultural change) through the finance and marketing communities to deliver transparency of true costs of development and support by initiative (by BU) to support accurate P+L development and learning implementation.
  • Innovation portfolio and pipeline financial management: Lead the Global Finance community adoption of and clarity on role in the Innovation gate process.
  • Technical platform and proactive development ROI: Lead the setting of clear KPIs to ensure deliverables meet our business needs and expectations; and to track return for investment.
  • Portfolio strategy – simplification opportunities: Lead the driving of plans into action through BU and shared KPIs, simplifying our range offering, based on outputs of the portfolio work currently under way.
  • Finance lead on multi-market and global NPD projects (e.g. multi-market COGS glidepaths, SKU & Blend optimisation.

Marketing Effectiveness

  • MMM future planning – support in exploration of potential for alternative approaches for attribution and econometric modelling. Lead roll out of 3-year roadmap in MMM capability.

Finance/Performance Leadership

  • Key member of the Global CS&I leadership team and transformational leadership team (strategic and OP focus).
  • Implement and run a functional performance management process to ensure understanding of performance and generate insights and activities to drive business performance and support decision-making at the senior level.
  • Drive KPI tracking against strategic priorities, the 20% which will deliver the 80%, and ensure aligned to key investment areas. lead monthly business management meetings to discuss key priorities and KPI tracking
  • Finance business partner to Global CS&I team for support, lead for business case delivery on financial and risk assessments (e.g. capex, partnership proposals)
  • Finance lead for 5-year plan and budgets partnering with CBO and HR on investment priorities and choices (integrating with BU plans), supported by Group Accounting.

Communication and stakeholder engagement

  • Lead and implement with strong engagement across market FDs and Finance teams to build global capability in innovation and marketing effectiveness.
  • Engagement and stakeholder management working closely with the senior International marketing team, marketing innovation leads and Team NPD, TSC Commercialisation and Finance teams.
  • Present and deliver reporting across multiple levels.

  • Non-Financial Reporting

Establish reporting and framework required.

  • Define Non-Financial Reporting Scope: Establish and define the scope of all non-financial reporting requirements across the entire Twinings Ovaltine Group, ensuring comprehensive coverage and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead all non-financial reporting requirements, ensuring integrity of data reported, including ABF annual report TCFD disclosures, annual HS&E KPIs, quarterly ESG Governance Committee meetings (C-Suite audience). Working closely with ABF Non-financial reporting team.
  • Ensure up to date knowledge of ESG legislation impacting on TwiningsOvaltine, particularly UK & EU, supported by BUs and ABF Corporate Responsibility hub.
  • Ensure alignment of the ESG Strategy with reporting and KPI measurement of workstreams, working with the ESG Project manager, SMEs & ESG analyst.
  • Deferred: Ensure CSRD Compliance: Lead the implementation of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements by properly defining them through Double Materiality and Risk assessments.

Develop global framework, systems, and reporting processes.

  • Develop and Enhance Reporting Processes: Review, improve, and, if necessary, create processes to efficiently and reliably collect and report non-financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Supported by the ESG analyst, partnering with Martech and SI&S SMEs.
  • Implement Efficient Reporting Systems: Introduce an ESG technology roadmap aligned to strategic priorities and tracking of sustainability performance against targets, supported by Martech.
  • Working with the ESG analyst, set up and manage systems that facilitate efficient data collection and reporting, optimizing the process for accuracy and minimizing operational burden.
  • Innovation in Reporting: Lead initiatives to innovate and improve the quality and transparency of reporting, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of stakeholders.

Communication, engagement, and risk management

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate the company's non-financial performance and sustainability strategy.
  • Interdepartmental Leadership: Work closely with senior leaders across finance, social impact, international marketing, TSC and manufacturing to ensure alignment on non-financial goals and metrics.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, ensuring that they are effectively mitigated and communicated across the organisation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Financially qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or similar)
  • Demonstrable experience in global Financial Business Partnering roles, directly implementing strategy.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and reporting tools (Excel, SAP, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with non-financial reporting frameworks and tools (GRI, SASB, TCFD, ESG data platforms).
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (advantageous).
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and provide high-level financial and non-financial insights that support long-term business goals.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding and experience of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Sustainability Expertise: In-depth knowledge of sustainability, CSR, and ESG principles, and experience with related reporting standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, with the capacity to interpret both financial and non-financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to senior management, the board, and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organisational change.
