Family Support Worker – Children With Disabilities Team

Are you looking to broaden your experience and develop your skills within Children's Services? We are offering an exciting secondment opportunity for a current member of staff to join the Children with Disabilities Team as a Family Support Worker.
About the Role:
As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children, young people, and families, providing high-quality support and interventions. You will help develop and implement Child in Need Plans and work in partnership with families and professionals to promote positive outcomes and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out high quality Assessments, develop and implement high quality Child and Family Plans.
- Visiting families in their home and children at school to help build up positive relationships.
- Developing solution focussed plans to support children and families.
- Helping parents and families understand their children's needs
- Work collaboratively with social workers and multi-agency partners through multi-disciplinary meetings and Child in Need reviews.
- Completing direct work with disabled and non-disabled children using a variety of tools and approaches.
- Engaging and contributing to group and team discussions to help contribute to the wider development of the service.
Who Should Apply?
- Have experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly those with SEN or disabilities.
- Are skilled in partnership working and communication.
- Are flexible, resilient, and eager to contribute to service improvement.
- experience in Carrying out Assessments and family plans
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ3 or above in a relevant field or working towards this qualification.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Willingness to work flexibly in a fast paced and exciting environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £14.82-£20.16 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dudley (West Midlands): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- working with young people and families. : 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- experience doing assessments and family plans (required)
