Network Security Automation Engineer

The Security Team within QRT's Technology function is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of QRT's systems and data. The team supports secure operations globally and collaborates closely with technology and business stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of security controls and operational processes.
Your Future Role within QRT
- Design and evolve network security automation frameworks, including templating, validation, and change control
- Integrate with vendor APIs and SDKs to automate configuration and lifecycle activities
- Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to translate designs into automated workflows
- Support cross-functional initiatives that strengthen network security
- Capture network security intent as code and apply peer-review and quality-assurance practices
- Deliver incremental, safe changes using automated testing and controls
- Oversee network and network-security changes across hybrid environments
- Provide technical DevOps expertise within the security domain
- Implement automated, scalable security processes and controls
- Approach security as an enabler for reliable and resilient systems
Your Present Skillset
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and/or security
- Strong background in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code or configuration tooling
- Strong scripting capability (Python, Bash, Go, or similar)
- Git proficiency including branching workflows and versioning
- Understanding of zero-touch provisioning concepts
- Experience deploying secure web applications
- Experience with CI/CD systems
- Understanding of observability fundamentals (metrics, logging, tracing)
- Familiarity with source-of-truth or configuration-management systems
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies
- Secure secrets and configuration management practices
- Strong understanding of systems, networking, and security engineering concepts
- Understanding of security hardening and secure pipeline practices
- Advantageous: exposure to cloud technologies, and experience in data centre environments
