About the Role

Optima Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting
self-employed Courier Drivers
with their own
Long Wheelbase (LWB) van
to support parcel delivery operations from a depot in the
DH1, Durham area
. This is a 10-hour shift role (including loading time) with consistent parcel volumes throughout peak season and potential ongoing work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect parcels daily from a DH1-area depot.
  • Load vehicle and complete multi-drop deliveries to residential and commercial addresses.
  • Scan parcels, record proof-of-delivery (POD), and report any delivery issues.
  • Follow planned routes and meet delivery timeframes.
  • Maintain professionalism, parcel security, and customer service throughout the route.

Requirements

Own
LWB van
(Sprinter, Transit, Crafter, etc.)

Valid
UK Driving Licence


Courier insurance
(Goods-in-Transit + Public Liability + Fully Comprehensive)

Registered as
self-employed
or willing to register (UTR number)

Reliable, punctual, and physically fit to handle parcel loading/unloading

Previous courier or multi-drop delivery experience preferred (not essential)

Shift & Pay Details

  • Working hours:
    10-hour shifts (including 1-hour loading)
  • Shift options:
    7:00am–5:00pm or 8:30am–6:30pm
  • Pay rate:
    £150–£190 per day (paid weekly)
  • Uniform provided free
  • Immediate start available
