Salary: £85,900
Closing date: Wednesday, 26 November 2025
Contract type: Permanent, full-time.
Interview dates: First round w/c 15 December. Second round w/c 05 January
The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy, and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won't be solved by science alone.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Value Proposition (EVP) & Engagement Lead to co-create and embed our new EVP that reflects our values and drives engagement. This role will help make Wellcome the best place to work and enable a culture that contributes to our mission.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You'll be part of setting up a new People Experience team, reporting to the Head of People Experience. You'll lead initiatives that elevate our employee experience and foster a culture that empowers our people to be and do their best in delivering our mission.
What will I be doing?
As the EVP & Engagement Lead, you'll bring cutting edge insights from other organisations and industries, to take the lead in shaping and embedding Wellcome's new EVP with a strong focus on belonging and impact. You'll drive unique engagement initiatives that reflect our values and brings our culture to life. You'll also manage and influence how we assess and evolve our workplace experience to ensure that our people feel connected, valued, and inspired to deliver on our mission for now and the future.
Key Accountabilities:
- Culture Assessment and Strategy: Manage the integrity and cadence of our employee survey and Internal Culture Audit, using insights and benchmarks to shape strategies that enhance our organisational culture.
- EVP: Collaborate with the People Team and Corporate Affairs to create and embed Wellcome's new EVP, ensuring inclusion across all employee experiences, striving for consistent alignment, and understanding.
- Employee Engagement Initiatives: Work with the People Experience Specialist to design and implement projects that foster an inclusive and high-performing culture, driving Wellcome to truly become THE best place to work.
- Cross Functional Activity: Represent the People Team on cross-functional projects and Wellcome Committees, leading initiatives that instil Wellcome's beliefs, values, and behaviours, thereby enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement.
- Internal Communications: Partner with Internal Communications and People Managers to ensure impactful messaging on employee experience initiatives, utilising diverse communication methods with colleagues.
- Inclusive Culture Promotion: Foster an inclusive workplace by embodying Wellcome's values and promoting practices that support and enhance diversity and inclusivity.
