Join us as a trustee and lead our land and property strategy — helping manage assets, guide restoration, and shape the future of our canal corridor. Make a lasting impact on heritage, housing, and community green space.

What difference will you make?

By joining our board, you'll help shape the strategic direction of our restoration work and play a key role in managing the land and property that underpins our canal corridor.

Your leadership will help us secure access, maintain compliance, and make the most of our assets — ensuring our work benefits local communities, heritage, and the environment for years to come.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good ICT skills

Knowledge And Experience

  • Familiarity with the role of a Land and Property Trustee and the challenges facing the Trust
  • Practical experience in land and property matters

We welcome interest from individuals with lived experience in housing or land access — and we're happy to tailor the role to suit your strengths and availability.

What will you be doing?

As with all our volunteer roles, we're flexible in fitting responsibilities to individual strengths and availability. Here's an overview of the type of activity this trustee will be involved in.
Our board includes volunteers with expertise in many areas. We're seeking someone to lead our land and property strategy — helping manage assets and guide restoration across our canal route.

This trustee will oversee our approach to land acquisition, property management, and compliance. They'll advise the board on legal and practical matters, liaise with landowners, agents, tenants, and public bodies, and help us respond to emerging issues and opportunities. They'll also ensure safe, compliant activity across our sites and help manage income-generating assets in the Trust's best interests.

This role is central to our long-term vision — restoring a navigable canal corridor while protecting the land and property that makes it possible.
