A leading aerospace and defence manufacturer is seeking experienced
Production Quality Engineers
to support prototype activities for a high-profile fixed-wing aircraft programme. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge aircraft systems within a fast-paced production environment.

The position is based full-time at
Birmingham Airport
, working as part of the on-site Quality team responsible for assuring compliance with company, contractual, and regulatory standards across production and assembly operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality inspections on aircraft components, systems, and assemblies.
  • Support Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including QA and MRB input.
  • Perform stock checks, safety reviews, and investigations.
  • Review proposals, contracts, and programme requirements to develop QA strategies and test plans.
  • Verify product conformity to design and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, document, and manage non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits, surveillance, and process validation.
  • Promote a Just Culture and drive continuous improvement within the production environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in
    aerospace production or MRO quality assurance
    .
  • Experience performing
    root cause and corrective action
    activities.
  • Working knowledge of
    Quality Management Systems (QMS)
    .
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, production processes, and inspection standards.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or quality discipline.
  • Familiarity with
    FAA/DCMA requirements
    or similar international standards.
  • Experience in
    prototyping or low-rate production
    environments.
  • Exposure to Boeing-style or similar aerospace production processes.
  • Data analysis or process improvement experience.
